Blackstone Glacier Tour and Shrimping Adventure

Depart Whittier by boat and head for Blackstone Bay to view Blackstone Glacier, one of the tide water glaciers that Prince William Sound is famous for as well as Northland and Beloit Glaciers. Learn about the geology of the area and watch for calving ice as well as the unique wildlife in the area. Then head for the shrimping grounds and pull the shrimp pots from the depths! 3.5 hour duration.

Full Day Wildlife and Glacier Viewing Adventure

Sea Lions Seabirds

Depart Whittier by boat and head towards Naussau Fjord and Chenega Glacier – one of the larger glaciers in Prince William Sound, looking for wildlife on the way. Species we may see include Steller sea lions, harbor seals, Dall porpoise, Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear, orca, humpbacked whales, northern sea otters as well as numerous bird species. After glacier viewing, head out to the outer islands of Prince William Sound to view seabird rookeries with horned and tufted puffins, common murres, black-legged kittiwakes and shorebirds. Head back to Whittier via scenic passages looking for whale activity. Boxed lunch is provided. 8 hour duration.

Full Day Alaska Fly-fishing Adventure

Fly-Fishing Black Bear

Depart Whittier by boat and cruise 50 miles south of Whittier through the passageways of South Western Prince William, looking for wildlife on the way including whales, seals, sea otters and black bear. Depart from the boat and hike a further 1.3 miles through Hemlock forest to a remote lake where we’ll fish for Cut Throat Trout and Dolly Varden. All fly-fishing rods, lures and waders are provided as well as a box lunch. Return to the boat and cruise back to Whittier. Season starts June 15th. 8 hour duration.

$1200 per trip (1-6 people.)


Blackstone Bay Unguided Kayaking Adventure

Blackstone Glacier with nearby Northland and Beloit Glaciers is a popular kayaking destination. With towering glaciers, ice strewn waters and awesome waterfalls this is a great way to spend your day in the Alaskan wilderness. Let Whittier Water Taxi drop you off in this stunning area for a day’s kayaking and we’ll pick you up at the end of the day. This package includes kayak rental, round trip water taxi and safety gear. 8 hour duration.

$250 per person (4-6 people.) 

This trip is also offered as a guided trip on weekends only with a packed lunch. It is essential to reserve well ahead. $320 per person (4-6 people).
