Whittier Water Taxi offers the best prices and service for a personalized and reliable water transportation service for up to six passengers at a time and/or gear on each of our heated boats to any back-country location throughout South Western Prince William Sound as well as transport to Blackstone Glacier, Nellie Juan Glacier, Chenega Glacier, and many other great camping, sea-kayaking, hiking, photography, birding and wildlife viewing hotspots. We'll taxi you to prime beach-combing or berry-picking locations, or we'll take you to specific areas that support your research efforts.

We conveniently pick you up in the Whittier Boat Harbor at the boat launch next to the USCG Auxiliary railcar.

Whittier Water Taxi is locally owned and operated by year round Alaskan Matt Cline. Matt, originally from Tillamook, Oregon, and a well-traveled military child, always had a strong desire to explore the Alaskan wilderness. In 1986, he finally fulfilled his wish and moved to Alaska. Matt's mechanical and boating skills were in high demand in this fishing and boating state, and his work took him from Anchorage to Seward, Cook Inlet to the North Slope, and from the interior to the coast. Matt has spent more than 24 years boating in the Alaskan waters in tiny, open skiffs to 100' boats, including doing his time with Alaska's commercial fisheries. He holds a USCG 150 ton Master License, is State Park permitted, and is a licensed game transporter. A qualified Alaska naturalist, Matt will have you enthralled with his Alaskan stories and wealth of knowledge.

Heidi Cline was born and raised in Durban, South Africa, and has worked amongst birds all her life, from managing and designing bird parks, including Treehaven Waterfowl Trust (the largest collection of waterfowl in the world), to owning her own birds, to curating the seabird collection at the Alaska SeaLife Center, to working on Endangered Species breeding and research programs such as the African Wattled Cranes and Alaska's Steller's eiders. After a birding trip to Alaska in 2000, Heidi fell in love with Alaska and immigrated here in 2002. Heidi holds a USCG 100 ton License, has a Master's degree in Ornithology, has a passion for all wildlife and photography, and will take care of all your travel needs and logistics.
